For the third consecutive year the White Book of Ski Areas is the official choice of Money magazine as the source of its ski related data for the annual 100 Best Places to Live issue. The data is used to calculate the proximity of ski areas to the cities and towns under consideration. Best Places to Live receives tens of millions of views every year.
Money magazine has also had its influence on the White Book. One of the many new features built into our re-designed site for the 2016-2017 season is GPS coordinates for 490 ski areas and resorts. Having the coordinates available allows our audience to enter them into their GPS and drive right to their destination.
The White Book of Ski Areas and Money have agreed to partner again for the Best Places to Live 2017.
The White Book of Ski Areas has been published since 1975. It’s the oldest, most complete directory of North American ski areas and resorts. The White Book is a fast-find, statistical data base/directory of nearly 500 ski areas in North America. Within its pages visitors find mountain listings including the vertical drop, annual snowfall, lift system, type of terrain, skiable acreage, number of trails, number of parks and pipes, ticket pricing, tubing parks, skating rinks, cat-skiing, heli-skiing, cross-country centers, night skiing and resort rankings based on six key categories. Visitors can also access original content in The White Blog and Women in the Snow.
