Another fun booth at the SnowSports Industries of America (SIA) trade show was Blanc Noir. According to their website, “Blanc Noir celebrates the ever-evolving art of juxtaposition. An engaging portrayal of opposites playing off one another to create a perfection of balance and harmony – feminine/masculine – work/play – static/motion – hot/cold. It’s about understanding and embracing the beauty of opposites.” While not exclusively ski clothing per se, they offer a unique and cutting edge design to their line of what has been referred to as “Athleisure” wear. This is a trend where the clothes you are wearing to workout, ski, hike or bike are also perfectly appropriate to wear on the street. Work/play clothes become interchangeable because of the latest developments in fabric technology combined with functional detailing.

The clothing is designed using many different fabrics in a single piece of clothing. For example, I was impressed with their Traveler Jacket. A stunning jacket made with cotton, silk, satin, and lamb skin. It’s beautiful, functional and versatile. The entire line is comprised of an eclectic blend of chic sportswear from hoodies to Motos, vests, pants, and tops; there is a lot to like. However, these are not your “classic” looks. These are fun and functional fashions to emphasize your diva side. When you’re feeling Rodeo Drive or European stylish these pieces will work beautifully.
