(Jan.2016) Imagine a 14-story, 140-foot tower rising above the lights at Fenway Park with a ski slope and jump leading right into home plate. Sounds crazy, right? Not so much. The Red Sox’ Fenway Sports Management has teamed up with the US Ski & Snowboard Association and the Federation of International Skiing (FIS) for an officially sanctioned U.S. Grand Prix tour event. This is big-time.

On the evenings of February 11 & 12 world class skiers and boarders will accept the challenge of Fenway’s “White Monster”. Boarders are first up on Thursday the 11th followed by skiers on Friday the 12th. The event is drawing renowned riders such as Olympic Slopestyle Skiing Gold Medalist Joss Christensen, Slopestyle Snowboarding Olympic Champion Sage Kotsenburg, and Olympian Ty Walker.

For tickets to the Polartec Big Air at Fenway event be sure to follow Ski NH on Facebook at www.facebook.com/skinewhampshire or visit www.skinh.com. Don’t wait to get your tickets! Nearly 10,000 are gone already. They are currently on sale at www.redsox.com/bigair. Ski NH is also getting people to the event. Starting in mid January and running through the week before the event, the organization will be giving away tickets via a Facebook sweepstakes. The contest will also feature additional prizes that include skiing at NH ski areas. An interactive booth inside the park during the event, mascot appearances from NH resorts, and much more will all be featured throughout the weekend inside the stadium.

This will be an event like no other and is sure to add to Fenway’s lore. The White Book has already received its media credentials to the event and will cover it in detail. Watch for more in mid February.
