(December 2013) Let’s face it, Lindsey Vonn has it all. She’s drop dead gorgeous, an enormously talented skier, (some would argue the best woman skier ever), hangs out with celebrities and even played a role as a secretary in an episode of Law & Order. Her controversial relationship with Tiger Woods, has served to ratchet up her celebrity factor even more.
At the World Cup Championships in Schladming, Austria last February she suffered a debilitating crash in which she blew out her knee, seriously tearing the ligaments. Lindsey has been training and building strength and endurance since July. She had to start slowly with some regenerative training and technical exercises to help her regain her composure on the snow. Unfortunately, she suffered a set-back recently while training at Copper Mountain, CO. She re-injured her knee. Remarkably, within days she was back on the slopes of Vail, free-skiing. Her goal is still to make a strong comeback and (hopefully) grab some new necklaces, (Gold, Silver or Bronze) at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
If she is able to compete, will Tiger be there to cheer her on? Nothing definite at this point, but she says, “We’re working on it.” In a statement made to the Detroit Free Press, Lindsey said that Tiger understands pressure and competing at an extremely high level. He gets it. She said it was nice to be able to talk with him about it since he can relate. So, no matter how you feel about him, I hope he’s there for Lindsey’s sake. If it will help her win the gold, then I’m all for it! You go Lindsey! We at The White Book are behind you 100% and wish you nothing but success. GO USA!
