(January 2013) On December 20th Brian Head Resort in southern Utah was purchased by a group called Brian Head Acquisition Partners LLC, from Missouri and California for an undisclosed cash price.
The 636 acre facility, of which 332 are owned by the resort, leases the remaining terrain from the US Forest Service and from the state of Utah. The mountain has been for sale since 2008 with an asking price of $29 million. The area has been popular with Southern California and Las Vegas skiers for many years. It has a vertical drop of 1,320 feet, two double chairs, 71 trails and 2 terrain parks over 2 peaks.
Burke Wilkerson, the 48 year old resort’s general manager, says improvements are planned that will greatly enhance their guest’s experience. No changes are anticipated this season. www.brianhead.com.
